Yum!
There are so many great restaurants in Crested Butte.
Here are a few of our favorites!
~~Breakfast~~
Izzy's - Breakfast Lattkes to die for. Behind the Post Office.
Paradise Cafe - The Breakfast Skillets will really fill you up.
Camp 4 Coffee - Best darn coffee in town. No jokin. 4th St.
~~Lunch~~
McGill's - Love the breakfast burrito for breakfast or lunch!
Sunshine Deli - We like the potato skins.
Pitas in Paradise - Order a gyro and you'll be happy.
Teocalli Tamale - Chill and easy.
The Last Steep - Beers and bar food. Good apps.
~~Dinner~~
Bacchanale - Our absolute fav but you can spend a bundle. Or not.
Lil's - We love Sushi!
Ginger Cafe - Thai in a cute atmosphere. Recently the food has become much spicier - ask for lite spice for more flavor.
Donita's Cantina - Gold Marg is pretty fantastic!
The Secret Stash - Just around the corner...gourmet pizza (can be expensive but worth it!) They also do take-out.
Soupçon - Wayyyy good. Wayyyyy expensive. In the alley between Elk and Maroon off of 2nd.
~~Take-Out~~
Why Cook?! - Prepared meals you can heat up at home. Next to
Clark's
grocery store.
Gnger Cafe or The Secret Stash - Both already mentioned above, both totally worth eating-in or taking-out.
~~Just For Fun~~
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory - Finger licking good. They also have Ice Cream in the summer.
The Princess Wine Bar - Live acoustic music sometimes. Good chill-out place.
Avalanche - Apres Ski!! At the Mountain Base area.
Maybe Not
~~Hit or Miss~~
Brick Oven - Pizza's not always so good, but the salad bar is. Beer on the outside deck is always excellent.
Wooden Nickel - We've had some good meals and some really, really terrible ones.
Marchitelli's Gourmet Noodle - Italian - Sometimes OK, sometimes great...mostly we like the Bacch better.
Slogar - You're starving and bottomless mashed potatoes and fried chicken sound great? Go! Not so hungry...skip it.
Groceries
If you have the chance, stop at City Market on highway 135 in Gunnison (you'll pass it on your way to Crested Butte just before you leave the Gunni town limits). It is larger and cheaper than the store in Crested Butte. In Crested Butte, we have Clark's market which is just on your left when you drive into town. You can definitely get anything you need here but the store isn't huge. (Except
prescriptions! Get those in Gunni if necessary!) We also have a small but well stocked health food store in town which is on 4th St around the corner from Donita's Cantina.
